Postcards from Cali: Campus Point promising for later

Hello Friends,
Light NW wind in Sydney just before daybreak. Should pick up a bit during the morning before going around to the NE and picking up into the 15-20 kt range. Summery. Swell was 1.4 metres at 8 seconds from the SSE. That could see some knee to waist plusses at the better spots for the morning session. Once the wind gets going this afternoon, I’d guess the SSE stuff will get hammered. Tide’s high just on noon, so early risers should get a little incoming push. Air temps heading toward 25 later and on Friday it’s shaping to be a stinker. Could hit the old century mark. Not good.
Surf energy looks like fading across the rest of the week and into Saturday. Happily the models are still calling for a brief but reasonably solid south event on Sunday. Hope the winds will be kind to you!

Meanwhile in another hemisphere…

Wind still howling just offshore at Santa Barbara this morning and we’re headed to a deep high tide around lunch time. A weak but okay size wind swell is starting to push in and as the tide runs out this afternoon there could be a fun one or two at Campus Point. Only 4 people in the water when I checked, but once the tide drops and they start to get some snap, that’ll change. Even so, the camera made the Collaroy-soft little walls look very nice…
