Looks hot from over here

Hello Friends,

Checked out the 1120 temp reports from around Sydney and I can see it’s in the low to mid 30s most places. Yikes! Hope you’re finding a way to keep cool. From the MHL data and the various cams, I can see that surf options are barely there. Looks like knee high would be a good one at most places. The buoy is showing a metre at 11 sec from the SSE out at sea, but I’m guessing there won’t be too many metre high wave faces around today. Bet that late gusty south change will be welcomed by a few million Sydneysiders.

The south change should push up the energy levels tomorrow, but since it’ll still be blowing pretty hard, I wouldn’t be too hopeful about the prospects. If there’s any NE to the swell, then possibly a south corner will offer a diversion.

On the other side of the ditch it was again very warm for this time of year in SoCal. Swell came up faintly into the knee plus range so I went down to Rincon for a paddle on a mal. If I can overcome some technical issues, I may even have some pics to share. Weather was clear and sunny and I could pretty much have any wave I wanted because there were only half a dozen of us scattered across Indicators to the creek mouth. Swell very soft and weak, but I made a couple of them over 100 metres.

Go well and hope that change comes through soon!

Weather Situation

A slow-moving high pressure system over New Zealand extends a ridge towards southeast Queensland, while a cold front lies near the coast of South Australia and is approaching New South Wales. This pattern is directing generally northerly winds over most of the New South Wales coast. Winds will freshen and tend north to northwesterly today ahead of the front, which will move up the New South Wales Coast this evening and Saturday bringing fresh to strong southerly winds to the whole coast. Winds will gradually shift northeasterly on Sunday ahead of the next southerly change, which will move up the southern coast on Monday.
