"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Friday morning fun zone

Hello Friends,

A combo swell thing going on as the day got started. Dominant swell was 1.7m  from the SSE at 10 seconds, but there was some 10+ sec component out of the NE. At 0630 wind was out of the NW just faintly. It’s not supposed to get much above 10 kts, but it’s going to be onshore from the E to SE until this afternoon when it is expected to swing to the NE. When I grabbed the pics, the tide was still dropping to the low at 0935 and it’ll be back to high at 1540.

As the pictures show, both the point and the beach were delivering surf options for the early crew. Set wave faces looked to be in the shoulder high range with the odd plus in the mix. The beach was a bit bigger and more consistent than the point.

The good news is that all the models are telling us that we can expect things to remain substantially the same across the weekend and into the early part of next week. So good news for what is often an ordinary time of year surfwise.

Have yourself a great Friday one and all!

Weather Situation from the BoM

This high pressure system will maintain southeasterly winds over the north coast for the remainder of the week, but northeasterlies over the south coast from today. On Sunday a trough will slowly move up the south coast, causing winds to shift southeasterly in its wake.
