The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 3 December 2015: Eight day outlook for Sydney:

A sunny warm weekend forecast for the workers finally…and there’ll be waves to go with that… but despite expected light winds the quality may well depend on the state of the banks at beaches after the blow of the last couple of days…

Also, a trap for young players will be the fact that a fairly hefty 11-13 second period for sets from way out East is expected from now through to about Wednesday.. So watch the surf and tides before going in, and stay within your own limits.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some beaches closed for swimmers over the weekend especially the usual swell magnets that are open to predominantly Easterly swell, which will keep surf patrols busy with the fine weather.

Friday though Tuesday: let’s call it around 2 metres, or at least upper end of 1-2 metre range East, at open beaches.. say in the 1-2 metre range at other places.

Wednesday, Thursday: easing back/going down through the 1-2 metre range North East

Friday:1-2 metres East South East with some North East swell too.

Stay safe> Have fun

Water temp is currently around 19 just offshore after 21 a few days ago…might come up to 20, 21 with the Easterly swell
