Friday not so flash

Hello Friends,

Foggy and only a faint north breeze at 0645. There was no real sign of wave activity at Dee Why and that’s consistent with the MHL data which at 0400 was showing a metre of 8-9 second S by SSE wind ripple. Throw in a high tide peaking at 0855 and you’re looking at a morning for activities other than surfing.
The wind is expected to be north to NE this morning before going westerly in synch with rising temps. We’re due to hit 35 today but a southerly buster should cool things back down this evening.
Tomorrow’s not looking too great either. The southerly is supposed to be 15-25 kts overnight and it’ll swing more east to SE as the day goes along. There should be more swell activity, but I’m only expecting scrappy, knee to waist plus onshore slop at this stage. Sunday morning might be a possibility in the north corners because there should still be a little south windswell energy and the wind will be around to the NE.
Have yourself a great day and stay cool!

Weather Situation
Northeasterly winds will precede a cold front approaching from the southwest today. This front will bring a strong southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast as it moves to the northeast, reaching the north coast on Friday night and early Saturday. A high pressure system behind the front will extend a ridge to the coast on Saturday, causing winds to moderate and tend easterly. On Sunday the high will move over the Tasman Sea and direct northeasterly winds over the entire New South Wales Coast.
