Sunday sunny and hot but waves tiny and not

Hello Friends,

Letter bate nan thever… as we would say in year five. Conspiracy of ordinary life events (breakfast with a friend, errands, you know the deal) sees me missing my morning report deadline big time.

Not that it matters much.

We’re still at a very low ebb energy wise. A couple of hours ago, the MHL buoy reported 1.6 metres of 7-second north chop. When I checked Dee Why at around that time, it was ankle to knee with the odd super gutless waist moment. If you were a grom with a good power to weight ratio, it was possible to sort of push along on the better ones. But full size people were struggling with the weak conditions.

Wind is now 15-20 kts from the NNE and it’s only going to pick up from here until dark. So, maybe there’ll ber a tad more energy at spots that like the swell direction as we get to dusk.

We’re expecting a south change early tomorrow morning. Depending on the timing, there might possibly be something worthy at first light, but by mid morning, only the southerly options will be on the table. Unfortunately, the south change doesn’t look like bringing any swell with it, so the it’s more likely to just rub out what little wind swell is leftover from this evening.

See ya tomorrow morning!

If you’ve somehow missed it, check out Kelly’s astounding artificial wave. This thing is just insane.
