Clean looking waist plus at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Lightly offshore this morning and what looks to be a SE line showing at the point and along the beach (the MHL buoy hasn’t updated for a few days now). Wave faces look to be in the waist to chest range along the beach and maybe a touch smaller than that at the point.
Wind should come around to the south this morning and to settle into 10-15 kts later. Tide’ll be high at 0850 and the swell intensity should be around the current levels all day.
Word of warning, last night I went for a splash at Longy, but came in pretty quickly after discovering rafts of blueys and purple people eaters in the water. Water was beeyooteefull though!
Outlook for the rest of the week is broadly for the current surf settings to stay in place. Some of the models show the period dropping into the 7-8 second range but direction (east) and size (1-1.5m) aren’t set to vary by much. The southerly’s set to go a bit harder tomorrow and then swing to the NE for Weds arvo.
Get in if you can – and look out for our little stinging friends!

Fun size but still mostly shutting down along the beach.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving low pressure system lies over the eastern Tasman Sea while a high east of Tasmania extends a ridge northwards along the coast. These two systems will direct moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds across the New South Wales coast for most of the forecast period, with winds in the south tending northeasterly at times under the influence of the high pressure system as well as the next one moving across from the Bight.
