Tiny Tuesday start but not flat

Hello Friends,

A sunny and very warm Tuesday coming up. There were knee to waist sets showing at Dee Why beach as of 0645 and a few bods were hanging around at the point too, but nothing came through while I was watching.
The MHL buoy was showing 1 metre of 7-sec east wind swell as of 0500. Tide was coming into high at 0940. Wind was out of the north at 5 kts as the sun came over the horizon (well, to be strictly accurate, as the horizon dropped below the sun).
Outlook is for the wind to pick up into the 15-20 kt range and to swing around to the NE for the afternoon.
Swell models are all more optimistic than this morning’s reality. They’re showing much longer periods than the MHL buoy is detecting and the size is smaller than they predicted. They don’t usually miss by this much, so maybe the energy will fill in later… maybe… because right now the average period is sub 10-seconds for pretty much the whole NSW coast. The only hopeful note is that the average period jumped to 12 seconds up at Byron a few hours ago…
As always, I’ll be checking it regularly during the day and updating if I see it doing anything interesting.
Have yourself a top old Tuesday one and all!
