Waves for Friday

Hello Friends,

Friday kicks off with 1.3 metres of 13-second south swell making itself felt at Dee Why. The point was producing waist to chest high sets at around 0700 (about an hour after high tide) and although they were empty, it looked as though it might even be a touch bigger up toward No Mans.
Wind was light from the north to NNW and the Bureau tells us it’ll pick up during the day, particularly offshore.
The models are projecting a drop in the wave energy across the day. As always, The Goat has issued his weekly outlook and as always, I commend it to you.
Have yourself a top old Friday everybody!

Weather Situation
A strong, slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the northeast of the state as a trough approaches from the west. North to northwest winds will shift southerly along the southern half of the coast on Saturday as the trough moves through. On Sunday, a low pressure system is expected to develop within the trough, most likely near central parts of the coast, then track southwards before moving away from the New South Wales coast during Monday. Winds are generally expected to strength over New South Wales waters as the low develops, but there is still uncertainty about the exact timing, location and movement of the low.
