TG’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 8 December 2016: Seven day outlook for Sydney:

What we have at the moment kids is a strong Noreaster, and it’s blowing Noreast windswell (surprising, you may say), into places that like that sort of thing.  And at places that are bit protected from the wind there are some people having fun catching the little short period waves~~~~~~~~~~~~That’ll change sometime tomorrow after a southerly (SW/SE) comes through.  Wave size will be up from the south, but so will the wind, before it turns to Noreasters and more Noreast windswell again with some more hot days and nice weather…. before the next cycle.

Friday: hmm, let’s say maybe a 1 metre or so North East, coming up later from the South

Saturday: look, let’s call it around 2 metres or so at dead South places..with some punch in the sets… then easing back later

Sunday: down somewhere in the 1-2 metre range dead South places, still with some punch in the sets

Monday: down a little with ditto punchyness

Tuesday: around 1 metre of Noreast windswell

Wednesday: ditto

Thursday: coming up in the 1-2 metre range 2+ at dead South places

Sad to hear about the guy hit by a lightning strike at Mt Warning.  With this kind of weather there can be more around.. in fact the Bureau is currently saying there’s a chance of a thunderstorm later this evening and on Monday. Some people may need reminding, and some including younger people may not know that :

Lightning strikes like trees – don’t shelter near one, open ground like the beach! – don’t stay out there, and…(thunder roll) the open sea! – don’t stay in the water, or surf when there’s a thunderstorm.

Have a look see where there are current lightning strikes in NSW, here:

Have fun!
