Little wave just north of Kiddies at 0550

Hello Friends,

At sunrise there were knee to waist high soft little wind swell waves coming into the Dee Why end of the beach. They looked to be around knee high to maybe waist. Tide’s high at 0815 so it was fat and getting fatter when I grabbed the pics. The 0400 MHL data was showing 1.7 metres of 7-second NE bump which is up a bit from yesterday at this time.
Wind was coming lightly from the north as the sun peeped over the horizon It’s due to pick up into the 15-25 kt range as the day heats up to 35.
Looking ahead it seems we can expect the current surf settings to continue through to late afternoon tomorrow when a southerly change is expected to break what promises to be a very hot day.
Outlook remains for a typical summery pattern of short period wind swell in the metre to 1.5 metre range and afternoon onshores. Thursday and Friday currently look like being onshore all day, but modelling for the weekend is predicting light wind conditions for the dawn patrol.
Have a great Tuesday everyone and stay cool!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is moving east maintaining a ridge to the northern coast of New South Wales and directing north to northeasterly winds. On Wednesday, a low pressure trough is expected to bring a south to southeasterly change along the southern half of the coast before stalling and weakening on the north coast during Thursday. A high pressure ridge will extend across the Coastal Waters once again on Friday with winds tending north to northeasterly.
