Blowing hard but small and clean in corners

Hello Friends,

15-25 kts of S-SSW wind as of 0730, but the corner at Dee Why was smooth – and tiny. So, the wind hasn’t pushed up the swell noticably. There were a few bods messing about in the knee high conditions. The MHL buoy data from 0500 was showing a metre of 5-second SSW swell at sea. Tide’s heading to the high of 1.7 m at 1140.
The swell should pick up across the day and I’m hoping there might possibly be something in the say of a decent wave for the early tomorrow. The big problem is the wind forecast. If there are waves, they’ll be blown out anywhere with exposure to the south, and later in the day, as the wind goes to the SE, even those options are going to disappear.
Yesterday some of the models had been modestly hopeful for the end of the week, but they seemed to have soured overnight. Now the consensus is pointing to knee high and light onshores during the morning from Thursday through the weekend.
Go well with your holiday Monday everyone!

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough currently lies across New South Wales, while a high pressure system is moving slowly eastwards through the Bight. A southerly change will extend along the New South Wales coast today, reaching the north coast by Monday evening. The high will move over the southern Tasman Sea by late on Tuesday, with winds along the coast expected to gradually shift more east to southeasterly in the middle part of the week.
