South exposures the best shot for Sunday early

Hello Friends,

Looks as though you need to find a spot exposed to the south to get anything at all in the way of a wave this morning in Sydney. The MHL buoy is showing 1m waves from the SSE at 7 seconds apart. There’s a 1.86 metre high tide at 1010. Wind was light from the NNW at 0615 but the Bureau says you can expect it to swing to the south soon as it ramps up into the 20-30 kt range later.
So, I’d say if you snooze, you lose. (Not that you’re missing much because it’s generally knee to maybe occasionally waist at the best exposures.)
It looks kinda like the next few days will be small and dominated by generally southerly wind. Some of the models are showing a bump up in swell late tomorrow or early Tuesday, so the early mornings at south magnets before the wind really kicks in could be a possibility.
Meanwhile here in Santa Barbara and Ventura, we have post frontal wind and a small but building swell. There could be some shoulder high stuff around later, so I’m waiting out the high tide before going for a look.
Your postcard today comes from a screenshot of the Surfline Ventura cam at California Street. Swell looks close together and a bit smaller down that way…

California Street Ventura late Saturday morning.
