"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Day of rest

Hello Friends,
Wind whistling through the rigging at RealSurf HQ from early. At 0900 the skies were clear and said wind was out of the north at 10-15 kts. As the pictures show, there was only a hint of a line coming into Dee Why. Even if the wind wasn’t doing its thing, there’d be little hope of a wave. The MHL buoy was showing about 0.8 m from the SE at 12 seconds, so, in theory there could be the odd knee to waist set at the right spot at the right tide. Speaking of which, tide was a 1.3m high at 0720 and is now fading to the 0.5m low at 1300.
The swell models are looking quiet for the next 24-48 hours, but from around Tuesday onward they’re calling for a small uptick with swell heights into the 1.5 metre range and periods grading from 8 to 10 seconds as the week unfolds. Wind should be out of the westerly quarters but with a northerly tilt from Thursday. Overall though it looks like there should be waves of some sort.
So have a cruisy Sunday everyone!

Sunny Sunday Dee Why

Only a hint of a line at 0830

This pattern is generating vigorous winds over most southern and central parts of the coast, which are expected to further increase on Monday as the front crosses the region. Following this, a high will strengthen over southeast Australia, bringing an easing of winds during the middle part of the new week.
