"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Hello Friends,

Beautiful if chilly morning in Sydney as Saturday kicked off.
Swell at sea was 1.2 metres at 10 seconds from 70° (ENE). As of 0630 the wind was out of the NW at 12-22 kts. Next tide is a low at 1000. High will be at 1620.
As the pictures show, it is very close to flat. The best exposures are seeing sets into the knee and a bit range, but for the most part it’s a bathtub.
The good news is that the swell models tell us that swell is on the way and should be with us tomorrow morning. Weather should be nice, wind offshore and by the afternoon south magnets could be into the double overhead range (if the more enthusiastic models have it right). Monday should be happening as well, although the wind is expected to come around to the south. While it’ll be southerly, swell should hang around into Wednesday.
Have a good one!

By Order of the Federal Government, our beaches are open for exercise only – surfing, swimming, running and walking.  Beaches will be closed due to unsafe conditions and or mass gatherings. All pools are closed at this time.

Please see some commonly asked questions about the beach closures.

If people are sunbaking or gathering on the beach, they will be asked to move along by our lifeguards, rangers or the police.

Due to the risk of Coronavirus and acting on direction of NSW and Federal Governments, Council has closed many public areas. View the latest updates on the evolving situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, it is against the law to gather with more than two people in public, except:

  • for members of the same household
  • where the gathering is essential for work or education
  • If you go out, stay 1.5 metres away from other people at all times.

The rules are also now enforceable and Police are issuing fines of $1000 for individuals and $5000 for companies. These are difficult circumstances and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Weather Situation
Vigorous westerly winds will persist today due to a slow moving complex low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea. Winds will shift southerly and gradually ease on Sunday, with hazardous surf conditions developing along much of the coast, as the low moves away to the east and a high pressure system pushes a ridge across from the west.
