Saturday south swell morning

Hello Friends,

Another chilly start for keen surfers this morning. But there are chest to head high sets to be had at south swell favourable places like Dee Why. Wind was coming lightly from the west as the day got started. Out at sea the swell was 2.6 metres at 9 seconds from 170° (south).

Outlook is for the swell energy level to stick around at about the current intensity all day. Wind should pick up during the middle of the day, but stay south to SW.

Swell is set to fade overnight and tomorrow the call is for northerly wind, so you might get a little something in the waist high range for the morning session. Beyond that the models are telling us to expect a week of tininess, with maybe a little uptick on Friday.

Have yourself a top old Saturday everyone!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system will drift across southeast Australia today, with southerly winds along the New South Wales coast gradually easing. By Sunday the high is forecast to be over the Tasman sea, with most coastal areas seeing a return to northerly winds. A cold front will bring a westerly change to southern and central parts during Monday, before stalling and decaying over the north. Another, more powerful, cold front looks set to affect the region during the second half of next week, likely bringing and extended period of vigorous winds.
