"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Looking fun this morning

Hello Friends,

Another sunny morning with waves for Sydney today. Wind was coming from the WSW at 11-19 kts and swell at sea was 2 metres at 9 seconds from the SE. As you can see from the pics, that meant chest to shoulder plus faces on the sets. Water is 19C and clean at most beaches. First tide of the day is a 1.3 metre high at 0845. It’ll be back to low at 1415.

The wind’s set to swing southerly this afternoon, so it looks as though the best plan is to get in asap.

Outlook you ask? Ah, well, the Mighty Goat blessed us with another generous serving of surf wisdom yesterday and of course I commend it to you.

Go well with your Friday and put on that N95 when you go inside public places.

(In the last five days, the virus was infecting our LGA at the rate of 450-500 cases per day, so going unmasked gives you an excellent chance of experiencing another infection. And remember, long COVIDĀ  is a non-trivial risk of following any infection (in a UK study, 10+ percent of those who tested positive suffered some form of long COVID).)

Weather Situation

A ridge of high pressure currently extends across northern and western New South Wales, while weak trough skims the coast this morning. The high will drift slowly east during today and into Saturday, and by Sunday is forecast to be over the Tasman sea as the next cold front approaches from the west. This front is expected to bringing a gusty change to most of the coast on Monday. A third cold front looks set to arrive mid next week.
