"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Monday morning and it’s on

Hello Friends,

An overnight switch from southerly to WNW-WSW wind meant that instead of yesterday’s blown out storm surf, the Dee Why crew had reasonable if a little rugged looking surface conditions along with a 2.4 m 9-sec SE swell as the day got started.

The conditions won’t last according to the Bureau. It’s telling us the wind will go back to southerly at 15-25 kts and that we can expect an 80% chance of showers with it. First tide of the day is the low at 0840, so by the time the 1.6 m high has filled back in at 1530, it’ll be well and truly blown out again. We should see a high of 18 today – same as the sea temp – and maybe 3mm of rain.

Swell should stay in the solid size range tomorrow and who knows, maybe we’ll have SW wind with it during the morning. The models show the period stretching out into the 10+ second zone and the swell direction getting closer to dead south. A mixed bag in other words. Wednesday’s still looking hopeful for a south swell, westerly breeze combo early along with a break from the showery weather.

Go well with your Monday folks!
