Hello Friends,
After blowing steadily through the night, the east wind was 10-15 kts at 0730. Swell has faded to 1.6 metres from the SSE at 10 seconds. So, not a great picture on the surf front. And a swampy 1.7 m high tide at 1000 isn’t helping. Looks like a good day to get on with your non-surf activities, knowing you’re not missing anything significant.
The latest swell modelling gives us a little hope for a brief window of potential fun conditions tomorrow morning when we might see offshores and mostly sunny skies. Of course the tide will still be an issue, but at least it seems we have a chance to take a break from the grey, messy stuff.
The weekend picture is not super exciting at the moment, but at least one reading of the tea leaves is predicting 12-sec east swell in the 1.5 m range and offshore breezes in the morning…
Weather Situation
A high pressure system has stalled in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over New South Wales waters, with light northerly winds expected to continue over much of the southern and central parts for the next day or two. The next trough and cold front are forecast to reach the coast at the end of the week, bringing a west to southwesterly change to most areas on Friday.
