"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Sunny and small

Hello Friends,

The N-NNW idled along overnight and as of 0730, it was 4-6 kts. However, the Bureau tells us that it’s going to pick into the 15-25 kt range as the day goes along. Tide was dropping to the low at 0910 when I grabbed the pics. As you can probably tell, the beach was mostly shutting down on the shallow banks and 1 metre east swell (at 13 seconds apart) wasn’t doing the point any favours. We’re in for a mostly sunny day with a summery high of 27. The ocean temp has ticked up to 23, which is great for surfers but also faintly disturbing at this time of year.

Enjoy the sunshine because the rain arrives tomorrow and then looks like sticking around until next week.

And if you’re wondering about the surfin’ prospects over the coming days, may I refer you to the ever-reliable wisdom of the Goat.

Go well with your Friday!

Weather Situation

A strong high pressure ridge extending to the north coast is directing an east to northeasterly airstream along the coast. Winds will turn north to northeasterly and strengthen on Friday ahead of a cold front expected to bring a fresh southerly change to the southern waters on Saturday. A low pressure system is expected to form inshore along central parts of the New South Wales coast late Saturday or early Sunday, resulting in a strengthening southerly stream in the south. Winds are expected to ease from Monday as the low moves offshore.
