The Goat’s Surf Forecast

Surf forecast issued Thursday 26 October 2023: Seven day outlook for Sydney

Pufferjackets were back in vogue today, as temperatures dragged up from Antarctica were flung at anyone on the coast who felt the urge to be outside with Nature, or anyone who didn’t for that matter.

Wind, showers, cold, wet, wild, messy, horrible.. Did I mention wind? It didn’t let up most of the day 40 – 60 kph SSE gusts on the coast kept the apparent temp much lower than we’ve been used to for a while. It struggled to get to 10 degrees for 10 minutes but then fell back to 8s and 6s

Not a day for the beach with surf looking well, silly. As the swell direction was dead South it was only getting into select venues and it was not making them look pretty with the wind behind it.

However it looks like conditions might improve around Sunday.

TG has his head under a pile of blankets so this is all I could get out of him…

Friday: say around 2 + metres at places open to Dead South swell

Saturday: say ditto

Sunday: easing back a bit in size but with swell direction changing more South East it might still be powerful..somewhere in the upper end of the 1-2 metre range South East

Monday: 1-2 metres South East

Tuesday: somewhere in the 1-2 metre rnage going down as the swell direction goes more dead South/ South West

Wednesday: upper end of the 1-2 metre range at dead South spots

Thursday: 1-2 metres dead South spots.

Stay well ~~ Stay safe ~~ Have fun!
