Passing showers, light NE early and almost flat

Hello Friends,

There was a light north breeze when I grabbed the pics this morning. It was 23 and the humidity was a very sultry 94% at RealSurf HQ. Half an hour later, the wind was coming from the NE as it builds to standard summer issue 15-20 kts this afternoon. As you can see, the ocean is still very low energy. The MHL buoy was detecting a 1.1 metre, 9 second mix of south and east swell, with the latter just dominating the mix. Waves looked very weak and were fat and full on top of it. Tide was filling in as it approaches its 2 metre peak at 0940, By 1625 it will have drained back out the 0.2 metre low. Quite the swing. Water is a very balmy 23 and clean.
I’m scanning the horizon for the Goat’s latest surf outlook, but from my reading of the swell models, it looks like we might see slightly better conditions tomorrow morning, but Sunday’s shaping to be southerly….

Go well with your Friday everyone!

Shower out to sea

Weather Situation

A weak ridge extending from a high pressure system near New Zealand is directing southeast to northeasterly winds along the coast, tending north to northeasterly along the southern coast on Friday ahead of a cold front approaching from the Southern Ocean. This front links with a low pressure trough over the New South Wales interior, bringing a late southerly change to the southern coast on Saturday, strengthening and extending to the remainder of the coast as a south to southeasterly on Sunday.
