Dull old morning but little bumps around

Hello Friends,

Yet another grey and drizzly morning for Sydney. Wind was coming lightly from the SW at 5-7 kts at 0730 and swell at sea was 1.4 metres at 12 seconds from the S by SSE. Tide was coming in from the 0700 low and will hit the 1.42 m high at 1305. At Dee Why this was translating into smooth, slightly lumpy ankle to knee high waves with the odd slightly bigger south set. I’d call it just barely surfable.

Outlook is for it to stay puny all day, but to start ramping up at south magnets across the day tomorrow and then getting into the solidly overhead range at magnets on Saturday when we can also expect 10-15 kts of wind from the easterly quarters along with cloudy weather.

Have a great Thursday and don’t forget to check back later to see what the Mighty Goat has to say about our prospects.

Weather Situation

A trough over central parts of the coast is weakening and will be replaced by a weak ridge of high pressure on Thursday. On Friday, a cold front is forecast to brush the far southern waters, bringing another southerly change to southern and central parts. After this, a high pressure system is expected to reach the Tasman Sea and extend a ridge along the New South Wales coast.
