Surf forecast issued 4 March 2024: Seven day outlook for Sydney

If you can’t say anything nice about someone. or something?.. then don’t say anything at all.

TG thought of just leaving a blank space on the page, but I convinced him that wasn’t good enough. So he said..

Let me try to paint a picture for you>>>

The sky is grey – several shades of – darkest where the rain showers are falling, out to sea.

The sea is also grey – several shades of – with lazy layers of white water lacing slowly moving toward the shore. Sandbank colour showing through the white lace in places.

Narrow strips of dark water where there’s a rip or two. Little channel along the beach. Wet sand. Unoccupied. Cockie flying past.

The surface of the ocean from shore to horizon is covered in small lumpy choppiness, even though there’s hardly a breath of wind. Leftover sea conditions.

Only one person is out in all that water, from over here to way down there…Young guy..Why isn’t he at school?… revelling in the uncrowded conditions, just enjoying being alive and part of nature.. You could envy his enthusiasm. Oh he’s just coming out.

The only sound in the still air is the constant mesmerising murmur of the small, shapeless, waves of whitewater rolling gently to the shore.. There is no one on the shore to greet it, so it just touches the beach and retreats to the ocean.

It is very peaceful and relaxing.

So peaceful and soothing, you don’t need to go to yoga to relax.

Just sit in your car with the window open. Think of nicer days and surf. And doze offfff … zzzzzz

Oh it’s now raining on the car roof, and it’s coming in the window..Zzppp …

So peaceful again>>> zzzz

That was this morning.. I wanted to take all that down because now it’s blowing strong SE and rain…

But now it’s not. Haha. Get used to it. What next…

Size is around 1.6m, 12 seconds period, but direction pretty much from dead South, so only getting into places open to dead south at present.

The surf outlook, according to TG, is:

Friday: at first similar to Thursday arvo, in the 1-2 metre range, then starting to come up around 2 – 2+ metres from outta the East, along with fresh Easterly wind.. won’t be pretty

(BoM has a Large Surf warning up, without telling you the swell direction)

Saturday: somewhere around 2-3 metres East, easing back, with fresh onshores

Sunday: around 2-2+ metres East North East, then easing back into the 1-2 metre range East North East

Monday: somewhere in the 1-2 metre range East North East

Tuesday: Next, for variety, but only at those places open to dead South.. starting to come into 1-2 metre range, 2-2+metres, from due South

Wednesday: say around 2, maybe 2+ metres dead South

Thursday: similar.
