Lotsa waves, but that water…

Hello Friends,

Things have calmed down considerably since yesterday’s downpours. The debris wrack lines along the high tide mark confirm that the surf zone is highly likely to be hosting an abundance of run-off nasties. That hasn’t dissuaded the hundreds who’ve paddled out this morning along Sydney’s beaches. The mainly east swell is back into the 2+ range with a useful 11 second periods delivering head high plus wave faces at the best exposures. Wind was coming lightly from the NW when I grabbed the snaps around 0830. Tide hit a pretty swampy 1.9 m high at 0650 and is currently draining out to the 0.25 m low at 1315. Weather should be sunny and an unseasonably warm 28.

Waves should be a bit smaller on Monday, but the wind will be offshore, so it could be fun at east spots. Tuesday could be more or less the same, but on Wednesday the swell picks up from the south, while the wind takes a SW tilt under sunny skies…

Have a good one!
