"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Rough and ready

Hello Friends,

Skies were mostly overcast at 0745 when I grabbed the snaps from RealSurf HQ. They’re a bit soft because the 17-26 kt SW wind was blowing my camera rig around. It was also producing lumpy conditions in the corner at Dee Why where set waves were in the shoulder to head plus range. Swell out at sea was 4.6 metres at 10 seconds from dead south to S by SSW, so most of the energy is going past us.

Tide was coming into the 0930 1.7 m high on what should be a partly cloudy day with the odd sprinkle and a high of only 22.

The wind should dial back this afternoon and the swell may get a touch more SSE, so if you’re keen…

Tomorrow’s the Bureau is expecting more southerly wind and a more SE tilt to the still solid swell, along with partly cloudy skies. Friday’s shaping to be similar on the wind and swell fronts, but back to showery weather.

Not amazing, but not hopeless either.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Weather Situation

A deepening low well off the coast is bringing a burst of vigorous southerly winds together with large and powerful waves and hazardous surf conditions along the coast. Following this, winds will gradually ease as a new ridge becomes established over southeast Australia during the second half of the week.
