Hello Friends,
Just jamming in a quick report before the family rouses on Christmas morning. It’s not much weatherwise, kinda dull really, but there are some little knee to waist-ish things flopping over along the beach and even occasionally at the point. At 0830 the wind was lightly NE and a couple of hours ago the MHL buoy off Sydney detected a mix of SE and NE wind swell. The main energy was coming from the former direction at about 9 seconds apart and with an average height at 1.7 metres. Tide was just hitting high as I wrote this around 0850. It’ll be back to low at 1530. I’m rating conditions as 3 out of 10.
Wind will pick up as the day goes along in the usual summer fashion. Tomorrow looks like a rinse and repeat of today while Sunday sees strong S-SE wind arriving and smashing things up.
Gotta run, best wishes to you and yours!
Weather Situation
A weak low pressure system and trough off the north coast is moving slowly further to the north as a high over the southern Tasman Sea gradually extends a ridge over NSW. Winds are forecast to tend more northerly and increase today and during Saturday as a cold front approaches from the west. This front is forecast to bring a gale-force southerly change to the southern half of the New South Wales coast during Saturday, then northern parts on Sunday as winds gradually ease in the south.
