Back to minor after that burst of swell

Hello Friends,

Swell’s faded dramatically overnight and this morning at 0730 set waves were struggling to make the waist high mark at Dee Why beach. It’s now too small to surf the point. Wind was a light NNW’ly and tide was dropping from the 1.66 m high at 0640. It’ll be back to low at 1240. The MHL buoy was showing 1.3 metres of 13s east swell as of 0600.
Outlook is for the the wind to be N to NW going SW in the late morning and picking up to 15-20kts. Swell according to the models is heading down another few notches over the next 24 hours. And thereafter it could be that we’re in for an extended period of marginal to near flat conditions for the next week – if the swell models have it right…
So get in if you have the chance and go well with your day!

Not totally flat at 0720

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough is bringing a west to southwesterly change to southern and central parts of the New South Wales coast this morning, and will extend to the northern coast tonight. Behind the change, a high pressure system will drift across from the west to become the dominant feature in the region during Thursday and Friday, promoting a return to fairly light winds. The next trough and cold front are expected later on the weekend.
