Hello Friends,
Bit of a late one because I surfed before writing the report. There’s still some swell about (the MHL buoy was showing 1.6 m from 120° at 11+ sec) and the wind was light northerly for the early sesh. Unfortunately the head high sets at Dee Why where I got in were annoyingly affected by waves reflecting off the beach and back into the incoming swell. This could mean the odd spectacular double up, but mostly it meant the conditions were just weird. Never mind, the water was beautifully warm and at least visually, not too badly affected by the 40mm of rain a few days ago.
Wind is into it now, but at protected zones in north corners, there should still be some fun to be had.
The Goat should be back to his usual haunts today, so I’ll leave thoughts about our surf prospects across the next week to him.
Have yourself a great Thursday!
Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman extends a ridge to the Mid North Coast, directing southeasterly winds along the far north coast and northerly winds to it south. Northerlies will shift southerly today along the southern half of the coast, as a trough brings a change before stalling about the Hunter coast tonight. During Friday, the trough will dissipate and the ridge push north into Queensland, allowing northerly winds to dominate for most of the weekend. Another southerly change is expected along the south coast late Sunday.
