PICS: South Narrabeen, late Saturday afternoon

Posted on September 15th, 2016 in Don's surfin' pics.

Conditions came together very nicely late Saturday afternoon, 8 Sep 2016 at south Narrabeen. It was offshore and chest plus. Better still for the lucky folks in the water, it was astoundingly uncrowded.
Herewith a few samples taken from the gallery here.

Pics: Long Reef, Sunday afternoon 31 July

Posted on August 1st, 2016 in Don's surfin' pics, News Stories.

Some solid sets on offer at Long Reef Sunday afternoon. I shot pictures from just south of the lifeguard box to the north end of the bombies and came away with 448 pictures which have now been posted in this gallery. Here are few samples, any one of which when clicked will also take you to the gallery. As always I took pictures of regular surfers catching fun waves, so no matter what your skill level, you could find yourself here…

PICS: First gallery of the winter season, Dee Why point Tuesday morning 24 May

Posted on May 24th, 2016 in Dee Why, Don's surfin' pics.

Took a couple hundred pics (seriously) Tuesday morning at the point as a 2 metre SSE swell at 10 seconds did its thing. Kinda busy, not super consistent and often fat on the still high tide, but the quality moments were still there to be had…

Check out all the shots from Tuesday morning right here

PICS from Sunday morning at Dee Why from the point to No Man’s

Posted on August 9th, 2015 in Don's surfin' pics.

Went shooting on Sunday morning at Dee Why beach. It was just too busy for me to contemplate. Conditions were pretty good, but the shutdown factor was a problem and despite the reasonable 2 metre, 12-sec SE swell, a lot of the waves seemed kinda fat. But not all of them. I saw three broken boards in the 90 minutes or so I was at the beach, so definitely some snap to some of ’em. Anyway, here are a few piccies from the gallery that should be accessible by Monday morning. As always, I was looking for regular surfers having fun, rather than hot shots trying to make surf mag covers. Over 300 from the shooting session that went from around 0930 to 1100. I was shooting folks from about the pole to the point.
Go see all the pictures!

PICS: Dee Why point Tues 28 July 2015

Posted on July 29th, 2015 in Don's surfin' pics.

Tuesday morning saw solid two metre plus south swell and a low tide at Dee Why point for around 30 keen participants. Size ranged from shoulder-ish to solidly overhead. I managed to get over 200 pics of the action which you can check out by going here.

PICS: mid Curl Curl Saturday am 9/5

Posted on May 10th, 2015 in Don's surfin' pics.

Saturday morning, 9/5/15 and I stopped by Curly to shoot a few snaps between 1050 and 1130 at just about the mid-point of the beach. Lighting conditions were perfect, wind was perfect, swell was pretty fun, banks were semi-ok in a Curly kinda way. And there were heaps of surfers out having fun chasing waves. As usual, all images link to the gallery…

PICS: The Gardens, Sat late morning

Posted on April 26th, 2015 in Don's surfin' pics.

After catching a few zippery little fun waves at The Gardens, I grabbed the camera and took a few snaps of folks of all skill levels for half an hour or so. As usual the images below link to the entire gallery of nearly 300 shots.

PICS: mid Curl Curl Sat am

Posted on April 12th, 2015 in Curl Curl, Don's surfin' pics.

South swell and Saturday insured healthy crowds at most beaches, including Curly. The best peak seemed to be in the middle, so I set up and shot there for half an hour or so. Quality was variable, but as usual, there were some good waves and fun sections if you were in the right spot at the right time.

PICS: Dee Why beach Sat am

Posted on April 12th, 2015 in Dee Why, Don's surfin' pics.

A somewhat lumpy but sizable south swell was on the fade Saturday morning, so heaps of folk were in the water at Dee Why trying to add to their lifetime wave tallies. Here are a few samples from my latest gallery of regular folks like you catching waves…
