Byron Bay Today June 29th 09 + Dec 08 Most popular.
Posted on June 30th, 2009 in Byron, Just for fun, Local Colour, Site News, Surf Reports, weird surf.First off, the way it was In Byron Bay Today. It started out dead flat. Not too inspiring, but as the day progressed the westerly backed off and few small lines began to appear. This quickly got most us interested as was clean & although small well shaped. Unfortunately it also attracted the interest of the hire board set. Beginners with attitude yeh what fun.
But there were a few nice little waves. And much fun was had by all but a few kooks who tried to play tough guys. But most of this update is not actually about today. This is the first of our ‘Most Popular Images of In Byron bay Today’ for summer. That’s right folks our opinions had nothing to do with this. These are the photos from December 2008 that you guys have clicked on the most over the last seven months. We don’t know whether they are your friends, whether you like the photos, or just dug the comment and they made ya laugh. But whatever it was, these are your favourites and not just by a little bit either, every one of these photos has pulled more than two thousand requests, some of them much, much more. Don’t forget tomorrow we’ll be putting together ‘Best of In Byron bay Today’ for January 2009, it should be fun, more scenery
& better waves.
Byron Bay Today June 28th 2009
Posted on June 29th, 2009 in Byron, Just for fun, Local Colour, Site News, Surf Reports.Well it was joyously sunny In Byron Bay Today. Actually everyday kind of feels like a Sunday in the bay, but I digress. The sun came out and the crowd was loving it. Not surprising really, as it was a beautiful day. We’ve all been under the grey for a bit too long lately. So seeing the sun had many out and about today. There wasn’t much swell to speak of and the waves were tiny. But hey thems the breaks, or lack of breaks as it were ![]()
Now listen up folks. We’ve been getting a lot of requests to produce the ‘Best Of In Byron Bay Today’. So We’re going to bring you your favourites in the form of one Best Of update per day, for each month of the last two seasons just passed. As we’ve got two seasons to catch up on. Starting from tomorrow we’ll bring you the absolute very best of In Byron Bay Today, for the next six days. Don’t miss out; there’ll be some excellent waves, people and some pretty funny moments coming your way this week. In the future we’ll do this at the end of each season. Good luck RealSurfers.
Passion Pit – Manners
Check the carefully-sculpted songwriting on display: the speaker-panning synths and slightly sinister children’s chorus (straight outta P.S. 22 in NYC) of “Little Secrets” and “The Reeling,” the lead dulcimer loops and melancholic melodies of “Moth’s Wings,” the ecstatic, riled-up climax of “Folds in Your Hands.” All part of a greater plan, the next step of which is taking Passion Pit’s live show to a level that matches, and eventually exceeds, Manners’ ambition and kaleidoscopic soundscapes. Because when Angelakos says he wants to be the next Randy Newman, he’s dead serious. And when he adds that Passion Pit is “a band with a lead songwriter, not just Michael Angelakos and these guys,” it’s clear he’s just getting started.

RealSurf Demo Day #1 POSTPONED DUE TO ZERO SWELL
Posted on December 5th, 2008 in News Stories, Shari's wanderings, Site News, Surf News, Top stories.Hi Everyone,
We were all looking forward to a fun morning at Dee Why beach this Saturday, trying out a swack of new boards. But, alas, Huey has ixnayed the party. Ain’t much of a point in having a demo day when there are NO waves.
Keep your eyes on RealSurf Top Stories or subscribe to my reports. We’ll announce a new date on the Monday before, when we are as sure as you can be about waves.
Have a great weekend everyone. And apologies if this stuffs up your plans. I know I wanted a wave this weekend. ![]()
