Pathetic
Posted on August 20th, 2010 in South Carolina, Surf Reports. With the weekend around the corner there is no possibility of any decent surf. Might want to travel north to the Outer Banks of NC, I at least had a few waves early in the week up there.

Its the best we can do.
Posted on August 12th, 2010 in South Carolina.Looks like slightly off shore winds leading up to off shore by saturday morning. Thursday – Friday have 2 foot bumps but could produce a fun wave with the incoming tides. I am off to Cape Hatteras until Tuesday so wish me luck.

Same as yesterday.
Posted on August 11th, 2010 in South Carolina.Choppy 3 footers with south winds starting off variable in the morning and reaching 15 mph by evening. Higher than usual tides can also be expected.

Best we can do is small.
Posted on August 10th, 2010 in South Carolina. The winds will be from the south most of the day and under 13 mph. So a small 3 foot bump is out there and will be choppy but that is the best we can do for now.

Sloppy Friday but better Saturday AM
Posted on August 6th, 2010 in South Carolina.South to SW winds a bit stronger today with gust near 17 mph. A 50% chance of thunderstorms after 3 pm. Swell will be in the 3-4 foot range through Saturday. You can catch a bumpy wave today, but I really want to talk about Saturday morning. Regardless of wind speed it will be from the West in the morning and the swell at least 3 feet so get up and check the water Saturday morning.
Looks like Tropical Storm Colin has reformed itself. It is moving NW towards Bermuda at 20 mph which puts it due East of Charleston late Saturday. I see no need to talk about surf beyond Saturday as its speed will not generate enough swell to talk about at this time. Any impact at all may occur late Monday – Wednesday. We will keep you posted.

One foot wind chop the next few days.
Posted on August 2nd, 2010 in South Carolina.Long boards only need apply at incoming tides. BUT, we seem to have some issues in the tropics so keep your eyes open by the end of the week.

After three weeks the wind finally not a problem…
Posted on July 29th, 2010 in South Carolina. But the waves are tiny. I got out for an hour this afternoon and you may be good for the incoming tides the next couple of days if you have a long board.

Just junk now
Posted on July 26th, 2010 in South Carolina.Sure, it looks like you could catch a wave, a bit of trash is more like it. Folks carry the boards to the beach, and bring them right back to the car. Another couple days of the same broken record. SW – SE winds light in the morning and blowing above 15 mph in the afternoon. Nothing looks good for the week at this point.

Still some swell but not the best wind conditions
Posted on July 24th, 2010 in South Carolina.I see a repaet of the last several days. Good in the AM and about mid day, the wind will slack a bit before kicking up near 15 mph around 1-2 in the afternoon. And IF a storm comes up, it will quiet the Ocean surface. Watch out for the Jellies.

The only chance is the morning
Posted on July 22nd, 2010 in South Carolina, Surf Reports. With the passing of the storms last night the wind laid down for the first time in two weeks!. Light to no winds are expected in the early AM so while the 3 foot is small, and weak, it may be your only chance.
