"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Quiet on the eastern front

Hello Friends,

0715: proof that you can (sort of) catch something if you're patient this morning.
0715: proof that you can (sort of) catch something if you

Fairly minimal activity at Dee Why this morning. There was a one person futzing around in the soft and junky  little shories up from the club. Much too tiny for the point to be a factor and I’d say if you found something into the waist high range along the beach, you’d be going very well indeed.

Sydney’s marine forecast is calling for light and variable winds of 5-10 kts this morning, swinging E-SE later. As things get started, the MHL buoy is showing about a metre of 8 sec period SE windswell. The Bureau says we can expect the already paltry surf conditions to decline even more as the day goes along.

Outlook for tomorrow is a repeat of the light and variable deal, followed by a swing to 10-15kts of NE’r in the afternoon. But the swell outlook is pretty ordinary. The Bureau’s calling for 1-2 metres of SE-NE swell. Kinda vague. The models aren’t showing a great deal for us to look forward to, but they do seem to suggest that from tomorrow it will build very slightly along much of the east coast. Here’s hoping it’ll be enough to give us something into the barely surfable range from about Weds on in our region.

On other matters, you’ll find that I’ve moved the furniture around a little over the weekend and we have a new addition to the centre column (just below the poll). It’s still fairly beta, but the general idea is to give us a spot to highlight the various cool surf links we’ve turned up recently. The one thing I can promise is that this section will continue to evolve, so feel free to send me your thoughts and comments.

Have yourself a top old day!
