Dee Why 1000hrs — Grey and lackluster, but one sneaks through now and again

Just back on deck after two weeks travelling the west coast of WA by 4WD. In what is probably somewhat of a world record of sorts, I didn’t manage catch a single wave, despite traversing more than 1500km of coastline, twice.  Couple hours of kitesurfing for two days at Ningaloo Reef then a cyclone shadowed us down the coast, whipping up 40 knot offshores for a week and blowing the surf dead flat, day after day.

Some photos at: http://picasaweb.google.com.au/primalmystery/WA_Trip#

But don’t expect to see any big waves…

Out the front this morning it’s looking generally dismal but now and again one waist high set will sneak through but there’s a lot of waiting between sets. A bit better up at Longy but not exactly inspiring.

Cheers,

Rob

Dee Why Point 1000hrs--trying, but not happening

Dee Why Centre 1000hrs

NW WA: A lot of driving, not a lot of surf--in fact, none.

NW WA: Pretty, remote, uncrowded — and dead flat.
