Grey dripping skies and small

Hello Friends,

Gee, that’s a nice good morning. Gloomy skies and 10 knots of NE wind is setting the stage for a weakening 1.5m south swell. There was a solitary hopeful sitting in the water at Dee Why point at around 0800. But I didn’t see them come close to catching anything.

Went for a wander at 0830 or so and can report that there’s nothing going on between Dee Why and Northy. There might have been something at Longy, but the NE has chewed up the surface a fair amount even in there. Swell angle isn’t working at Butterbox (who can remember the last time there was a decent wave there?) and the Collaroy-Narrabeen stretch is a write-off. Another good work or school day…

Both the Bureau and the WAM data are pointing to a short-period but potentially fun size NE pulse for Thursday. It looks as though it might not last for more than 6-8 hours before Huey yawns and puts the engine telegraph back to idle.

It doesn’t look too flash for the weather conditions though, with showers in the morning on Thursday, increasing later. Guess I probably won’t be shooting too many pictures.

Long term outlook remains marginal. The latest run of the WAMs shows us bumbling along between flatness and weak smallness over the next week…

Oh well, why not keep on smilin’? Huey always comes back if you wait long enough!
