"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Oh Spring, c’mon

Hello Friends,

I’d hoped for something slightly more interesting this morning, but where Dee Why’s concerned, the weak little ENE wind swell is just not doing it. The fact that we have an incoming tide isn’t helping either. It’s about a metre out at sea with an average period of about 7 seconds, so even at exposed spots you’re going to be struggling to extract much energy from the ocean.

Wind is set to stay out of the westerly quarters, so the little wind swell won’t be getting any help this afternoon. If anything, it’s likely to put further downward pressure on the already paltry offerings from Huey.

With luck we might get a little something at NE spots tomorrow and then again on Friday. By little, I mean waist high on sets. Still no major systems of interest showing on the long range charts. Some of the model interpretations are projecting a slight upward trend over the weekend and into next week, but at best they’re calling for maybe chest high at the most exposed spots.
