Rant Day

Surf is onshore custard so I think its rant day for me. My question – Is there a club more obsessed with surfboards in the flags than Queenscliff?  Seriously I sat for 30 mins trying for a photo and the total swimmer count in that time – zero.  The amount of times they got on the loudspeaker to order surfers away from the far edge of the flags  – three.  Plus they put the flags right next to a big rip surfers couldnt get past anyway. The amount of whistle blowing frenzies – one – and the guy was on a softboard but they couldn’t tell. And then to top it off they then let a couple of teenagers fly through the flagged area on the IRB.  Apparently that’s less dangerous than a surfboard in the swimming area?  I wouldn’t be so bothered if it just wasn’t for the fact its nice to have some peace and quiet on the weekend and every 10 mins is an aggressive loud speaker threatening fines that every house in the area can hear.  Whats it going to be like when there are actually people swimming to protect?

Can we all just relax a little?  (Maybe me included)  Phew…Got that off my chest.
