A few little waves about, maybe better later

Set wave
Hello Friends,

Still some swell around this morning, but the incoming tide seemed to be swamping it at Dee Why beach. Sets were approaching the chest high mark, but as with yesterday, there’s a bit of a wait for sets. Swell is mainly out of the south at around 1.3 metres. Average period is sitting pretty close to 10 seconds. Wind looks like being similar to yesterday, ie westerly in the morning before going SW and picking up to 15-25 kts.

The tide’ll make it fat until late morning, so there could be a little window around lunchtime where the waves are standing up and the wind hasn’t become too much of a factor.

Speaking of windows of opportunity, the swell is expected to pulse up pretty strongly by tomorrow morning and the wind is due to go south with the swell, but there might possibly be a touch of SW to it for the early.

The pulse is expected to peak around the 4m mark at dawn and then to drop back a little during the day. Thursday should see it back into the two metre range. This morning’s swell forecast models show swell of some sort through to early next week.

Have yourself a great Tuesday!

Tides: H @0830, L @1415
