Smoky Sunday morning with tiny little lines

Smoky Dee Why

Set wave @0800

Hello Friends,

Sunday morning in Dee Why was smoky, hazy, lightly offshore and very small on a rapidly incoming tide. Lots of hazard reduction burning going on around the Sydney basin this weekend and it seems the weather conditions have conspired to trap it more effectively than usual. Not the greatest for some of the folks doing the pub to pub run I wouldn’t have thought. Still, at least the surfers amongst them won’t be gnashing their teeth as they run past a succession of missed opportunities.

Waves at Dee Why were struggling to get to waist high on sets at 0800. With a pretty big high tide only three hours or so away (@1110), the conditions were already looking pretty fat and full.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the swell energy is set to decline to flatness over the coming 24 hours. Monday is looking pretty damn sad I’d have to say. What’s worse, the outlook through to Wednesday midday is equally bleak. Bah! I’m really starting to hang out for a proper wave now.

Ah well, make of it what you will and keep on smilin’
