"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Noosa Styles

I haven’t been to Noosa since I was a teenager and this week I was lucky to have a work junket nearby when the points came to life yesterday. A bit of a surfing culture shock with every surf craft, hippie, hipster, old salty sea dog, twin fin, retro fish, single log, alaia, 80’s gun, SUP, trendy wetsuit, button shirt, hat, helmet, gorilla grip, go pro and every other conceivable surf ‘thing’ all out in one stretch of point break.  If you froze it in time you would have the entire history of surfing captured I reckon.

You can’t deny the iconic setup and what impressed me the most was the heavy barrels breaking behind the rocks at both points with local grommets charging super hard, deep and shallow.  I expected soft point breaks not insane spitting tubes.

Feels good to surf long points in the morning and be back in Sydney for dinner!  Back to those super long waves of Manly….. sigh.
