Surfing is always full of “if only”. If only it was a foot bigger, the wind was more west etc. At dawn it was if only the tide wasn’t so high. Normally when these things actually change it doesn’t eventuate so you just gotta make the most of it. At dawn I got a bunch of cover ups so I wasn’t complaining but an hour later when I drove past again the tide had stated to drop and bloody hell it was pumping. Peaks and walls, offshore and sunny. Just gotta figure out that “flexible work hours” myth. Call in sick and get out the now.
