"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Clear skies, but beach clear of waves too

Go swimming
Hello Friends,

Not a cloud in the sky when I climbed aloft to the RealSurf crows nest at 0615. A fair amount of moisture in the air though. Wavewise, well, there really doesn’t seem to be even a trickle coming into Dee Why. The MHL spectra for Sydney is showing about a metre of 5-second E by ESE wind bump.

We’re going to a high of 27 today and the wind will kick in later and get into the 15-25kt range by this afternoon. Tide’s dropping toward a low at 1145.

You might find yourself a wee barely catchable lump at a beach with good exposure to the current “swell” direction. I reckon knee high plus with the odd bomb in the waist high range would be doing very well. The NE’r may possibly bump up the energy a tiny touch later.

Outlook for tomorrow and the weekend is not hopeful according to the models. The only swell energy is far off to our south, deep in the southern ocean – and it doesn’t look as though any of it will be coming our way in the near term. Western Tassie might be the go…

Have yourself a summery Friday and go well with your plans!
