"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Clear skies, light winds early, but very small

And we're off to another day.
And we’re off to another day.

0600 not much

Hello Friends

A warm one coming up, but sadly not a surf one. Look, you might get a leeedle something at places that like a metre or so of 9 sec SE wind swell. If you jagged something waist high, I reckon it’d all be good. Tide’s dropping to a midday low (@1225) and the NE’r hasdn’t begun to do its thing as I wrote this around 0630. Take your goofiest, floatiest toy and go for a splash. Skies are clear and it’s the start of a classic Sydney summer Saturday.

Outlook? Ah, you had to go and spoil the mood. It’s not shaping up to be a memorable surf week in Sydney, and according to the long range forecasts, we could be waiting another couple weeks at least for anything much to happen. I’m putting that right out of my mind and being unreasonably hopeful instead. The models have been wildly wrong before, maybe they’re wildly wrong now!

Go forth and have yourself a spiffing Saturday!

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast, while a low pressure trough lies near the state’s western border. The high will move slowly eastwards during the weekend, allowing a weak cold front from the Southern Ocean to bring a southerly change to southern and central parts of the coast. Behind this, the next ridge of high pressure is forecast to drift across from the west, and should be over the Tasman Sea by Monday to restore a generally northerly airstream.
