Nothing doing at Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Beautiful morning out there. But where were these clear skies last night when the eclipse was on??? Anyway, nice as the lighting arrangements are as Thursday gets started in Sydney, we have a real issue in the wave department.

At 0500 the MHL Sydney buoy was recording 1.3 metres of 11-second SE swell. But when I checked it a couple of hours later, Dee Why wasn’t showing anything above knee high – if that. Couldn’t see anyone in the water either. The Bureau says the swell is supposed to decrease during the morning, so maybe Huey just got started early.

The wind was not a real issue early, but the high tide at 0930 was wrecking havoc on the tiny conditions.

Outlook for the next few days is looking pretty much awful – if the models are right. The Goat hasn’t rolled out his words of wisdom yet though, so maybe he’ll see something not obvious to me. Sure hope so.

Have yourself a great Thursday and keep on smilin’!
