"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Quiet, too quiet

Hello Friends,

A mainly sunny start to proceedings along the beaches this morning. Wind was lightly offshore for the early, but the Bureau’s hoisted the strong wind pennant, warning that it’ll be northerly 15-25 kts later as things swing into southerly to SE’ly mode for the next few days.

There’s nothing much going on at Dee Why this morning. If you have a SUP there’s the occasional sub-knee high ripple to be pounced on, but really not much more than that. The MHL buoy was detecting 1.2 metres of 6-second NE wind chop, so you’ll be doing well to get anything above thigh high. That said, there does seem to be some extremely small, but long-period south swell in the mix, so maybe over the course of a session there might be one or two with a bit more energy than the rest.

The Goat should be along later with his thoughts on the surf week to come, and as always I’m keen to see what he reckons. To me it looks like an uptick over the weekend, but one with a heap of S-SE wind.

Have a great Thursday everyone!
