Dee Why looking tiny

Hello Friends,

Back in Sydney for your correspondent and gee it’s chilly compared to the mid north coast. It’s also much smaller at Dee Why this morning than I’ve had expected given the forecast. The MHL buoy is showing 1.4 metres of 11-sec south swell as of 0600. But very little of that is getting into the Dee Why end of the beach. It looks about knee to waist to me, but there was no one in the water that I could see, so my scale may be off a little.

Wind is W to WNW around 10 kts and is forecast to bump up to 15-20 kts W-SW later. So pretty good conditions on that front.

I’ll be making a Manly run this morning, so expect a follow-up report on what I see sometime after 0900.

As for the outlook, I think the Goat’s call is persuasive, based at is on his impressive depth of experience in these matters.

Keep on smilin’

ps: I’ll try to pull together a few snaps from the great surf adventure up the coast and sling ’em onto the site for your viewing pleasure/annoyance.
