"Stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine" - Jack Norris

Another very small but not quite flat morning

Hello Friends,

Grabbed a couple of snaps on the Manly to Dee Why run this am. Lotsa people at the Queensie end at Manly, not so many down the beach and no one chasing tinies at the Bower. Very inconsistent too.

Heaps of bods, not heaps of waves

Curly was uninteresting looking and at Dee Why it was only slightly more plausible along the beach. The point had been abandoned since I filed my first report. Again, very inconsistent and struggling to make waist high on the sets.

0900 and only barely catchable

(Earlier at 0730)
Light NW breeze at 0700 when I checked the ocean for the first time today. There were a few people on SUPs poking around at the point and occasionally gliding into knee high sliders along the rocks. Tide was just about low (0730) and the MHL buoy was showing a metre of 9-sec east swell at 0500.

Outlook is for the swell energy levels to mumble along at around the current intensity for another day or two, but we should shift into a generally southerly mode by tomorrow afternoon. The south to SE pattern is forecast to persist through Wednesday-Thursday. The Bureau’s modelling shows Friday being NW, but they say the southerly will be smashing it again on Saturday morning.

Have yourself a terrific day one and all!
