SW wind and south swell to start

Up the beach some size but quality?

Hello Friends,

Wind’s SW 10-20 kts at North Head as I write this a little before 0800. Three hours ago the MHL buoy was showing 1.75 metres of 7-second SE wind swell. This was translating into generally scrappy surface conditions at the point and up the beach. Wave faces on sets were close to the shoulder high mark. Lumpy, bumpy but definitely surfable if you’re of a mind.
Tide was high at 0640 and will be low at 1230.
Wind is supposed to peak in the middle of the day. The Bureau’s saying it should be southerly, but the observations early were showing SW’ly up and down the east coast. They’re also saying the swell should come up into the 2.5-3 metre range this morning. It looks like the models have been pretty accurate so far on this one. If they continue to be so, the swell energy will peak today and drop back tomorrow as the wind intensity fades.
Have yourself a top old Thursday and keep on smilin’!
