Saturday surf check

Hello Friends

Contrary to the forecast, the swell actually picked up a little overnight and at daybreak the MHL buoy was showing 3 metres of 11-sec SSE swell at sea. Wind was a light SSW inshore, but we can expect it to settle into the south before long. Tide’s dropping to the low at 0955 and will be back to a 1.5 m high at 1620.
Swell was most focused from the central to northern end of both Collaroy-Narrabeen and Dee Why-Longy. But the further north you went, the lumpier it looked. The wind was still light when I grabbed the pics at around 0700. Set faces were in the shoulder to head high range, but it looked strangely lumpy and fat along the beach, while at the point everything but the sets seemed to be going wide. Still, lots of keen punters on it, so fun was being had.

Outlook is for the wave energy to decrease between now and close of play Monday, but then, depending on which model you like, it looks as though the energy should dial back up from around Tuesday morning and then to keep kicking along more or less for the remainder of the work week.

Go well with your Saturday!
