Swell still here

Hello Friends,
At 0600 the MHL buoy offshore from Sydney was recording 2.8 metres of 10-sec SSE swell. As the pictures show, this was translating into solidly overhead sets at both the point and along the beach at Dee Why. Tide was dropping to the low at 0955, wind was coming lightly from the WNW at 0730 and skies were mainly clear.
From the look of the Bureau’s modelling the low making these waves is going to move away from us fairly quickly and by this time tomorrow the swell should be a little smaller as it fades across the day. Wind should be light and variable under cloudy and showery skies.
Outlook for the weekend doesn’t look too hopeful to me, but as usual I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s week-ahead thoughts from the Goat.
Have a great Wednesday everybody!

Head and a bit up the beach at 0700
Chilly 7C but lots of waves at 0700

Weather Situation
An intense low pressure system is centred over the central Tasman Sea while a high pressure ridge lies across eastern Australia. This pattern is driving fresh southerly winds over New South Wales Waters, easing later today as the low moves further east and loses influence. On Thursday the ridge will shift to the Tasman Sea as a trough moves into the state’s west, resulting in a return to northerly winds over coastal waters, increasing overnight as the trough draws closer. The trough is forecast to reach the coast during Friday, accompanied by a vigorous westerly change. Predominantly westerly winds will then linger through the weekend as a series of cold fronts pass to the south.
